Here are 5 swings for the back yard that don’t require a tree to hang from. I couldn’t find all the sources for all the swings you see below but at least you get the idea for what you can build in the future for your backyard. Maybe you will need something to hang some of these swings from, I am sure you got something in your backyard you can use….
1.
The Upside Down V Swing
Here’s a swing I could not find a source for at all, but it looks pretty cool, of course within it’s design, it’s pretty sturdy looking and well built. As long as you and your partner only weigh under 200 pounds this one should support you both.
2.
DIY Porch Swing Bed Build Plan
Here’s a DIY Porch Swing Bed Plan, which will definitely transform your outdoor space with a comprehensive plan to build your own porch swing bed. According to the listing, your only buying a downloadable PDF that shows detailed instructions on how to build one of these by yourself. It will include details for the materials, cutting list and guide to help you through the whole construction process.
3.
Half Moon Shape Garden Hanging Chair With LED Lights
Here is a strange one I found just scrolling down Pinterest, basically, this is a remote controlled, water proof, rechargeable half moon shape garden ganging chair with LED lights. It is definitely suitable for any backyard that is flat. Apparently it ships to Europe, United States, Canada and also Southeast Asia, for a price (it doesn’t say).
4.
Swing Table Set (8 Seater Rustic Hand Made For Indoor & Outdoor Use)
This is a signature swing set which is the best and most quirky bespoke furniture item you can get for your garden, according to the creator, and I agree!. No need to bring chairs to this table!, just don’t get tangled in the rope when sitting down with your meal. This would definitely take some getting used to. Of course this one costs a hefty $3400.06 CAD which might be worth it if you can totally afford it.
5.
Old Kids Swing Converted
Here’s what looks like a solid-steel swing that you would see at a school yard or something that has been converted, and the Christmas lights were simply wrapped around it and those rope swings were put on, at least that’s how I think it was created. I have no clue who did this, but it truly looks very cool!.
Well, that’s pretty much it for this post. Not all of the swings I was looking at on Pinterest were as unique as these ones. Most of them look similar. It also depends on the kind of swing your looking for. It can be a bench-style swing, or a single swing with two of them hung up next to each other (like the one above) which looks pretty cool and they can swing independently.
